Vietnam Blockchain Corporation (VBC) proudly received the first prize of High-Tech Agriculture group in the final round of the contest “AIoT & Smart Cities 2019”.
“AIoT & Smart Cities 2019” is a startup competition organized by Quang Trung Software Business Incubator (QTSC Incubator) held for the first time with the sponsorship of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, with the support of the Ho Chi Minh City Computer Association (HCA), Bosch Technology Group, Vietnam Computer Association (VAIP) and QTSC Software City officially launch from May to October 2019. The national scale contest for start-up and business communities revolves around the topic of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) in Vietnam.
With the desire to reach out to the world, Vietnam Blockchain Corporation set itself a direction to develop blockchain technology solutions for the Vietnamese market and bring these solutions to solve problems in daily life. With this strategy, VBC has researched and developed a solution for traceability of agricultural products along the value chain applying blockchain technology to agriculture to fundamentally improve management capabilities, supervise, produce and process agricultural products through the value chain. The solution, called Agridential, is a value chain traceability solution based on blockchain technology based on GS1 standards. Traceability by blockchain technology helps consumers verify the quality of agricultural products; minimize fraud and risk in the supply chain thereby improving the reputation and brand value for the true businesses in the market. Information is stored in a distributed manner, in multiple copies on the server community but ensuring privacy, not concentrated in one server, so the ability to forge is almost impossible. GS1 standard is a globally recognized standard and is also widely applied by Vietnam. Therefore, the application of GS1 standards in traceability of blockchain technology makes verification easier when exporting to major markets, contributing to increasing product value.
The feasibility of the solution is demonstrated not only by technical tests but also through evaluations when applied to real products. Agridential has been successfully deployed for more than 20 agricultural products throughout the country, typically My Xuong and Dong Thap mangoes are exported to the US market.
Mr. Do Van Long, Director of Vietnam Blockchain Corporation, “We are very proud of the blockchain technology value chain traceability solution that was honored to win the first prize of High-Tech Agriculture group at the final round of AIoT & Smart Cities 2019.
